Meredith Fuller
Dr. Meredith Q. Fuller (she/her) is a tubist, educator, and advocate for inclusive music education based in the Baltimore area. A recognized performer and teacher, Meredith strives for a high quality of musicianship on stage and in the classroom. She holds a DMA from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and is an alumna of the Penn State School of Music where she earned her BME and MM degrees. Meredith’s passion for the tuba began in elementary school when she volunteered to try the instrument during a Music In Our Schools Month demonstration. Initially chosen because she was a small girl, she quickly developed a love for the tuba, which set her on a path to pursue a professional career in music. She realizes that not every young student has as much support and opportunities as she did in public school, and advocates for music education, outreach, and advocacy for marginalized groups in the brass and tuba community. She currently serves as a low brass teaching artist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestras OrchKids program, and teaches privately throughout the region. She is also a faculty member at the Baltimore School for the Arts and its TWIGS program, where she teaches tuba and euphonium, and serves as interim tuba faculty at the Peabody Preparatory. From 2022-2024, she was the adjunct professor of tuba and euphonium at Penn State University. An active performer, Meredith is an inaugural member of the Chrysalis Orchestra and has performed with renowned ensembles including Seraph Brass, Monarch Brass, the York Symphony Orchestra, and the Altoona Symphony Orchestra. Her artistry has been recognized internationally – she was the winner of the Susan Slaughter Solo Brass Competition at the 2022 International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC) in Denton, TX and recently returned as a Featured Artist at the 2025 IWBC Conference in Hartford, CT.
