Principal tuba with the Lyon National Orchestra (ONL), chamber musician and professor of Tuba at the Lyon National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance (CNSMDL), Guillaume Dionnet is among the most inquiring, generous and well-rounded tuba players of his generation.

After perfecting his studies with Gérard Buquet and Jens Mac Manama at the Paris National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance (CNSMDP), Guillaume joined the Lyon National Orchestra (currently under the direction of Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider) as principal tuba in 2007.

Concurrently, Guillaume plays with Radio-France Philharmonic Orchestra and the Suisse Romande Orchestra under the direction of Neeme Jarvi, Mikko Franck, Klaus Mäkelä and Alan Gilbert, in prestigious concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Carnegie Hall in New York, …

Within the Auditorium – Lyon National Orchestra, Guillaume has worked on numerous projects, including: uniting musicians and actors in the domain of performances for young people; recording the CD Tribute to Lady Day with the Brass and Percussion Ensemble of the ONL; performing a recital (tuba and organ) and as soloist, the concerto for tuba and orchestra by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, accompanied by the ONL in 2009.

Guillaume flourishes in ensemble playing, as a member of the Bokeh Tuba Quintet and in the Brass Quartet, Caeli. Guillaume is also co-founder of onLy Brass Quintet, which was awarded third prize in the International Chamber Music Competition of Lyon in 2012.

As an experienced Professor, Guillaume has the privilege of being a partner of the academies: Eurocuivres, Caluire et Cuivres, Make It Brass (LUX) et Eurocuivres ASIA (TWN). Strengthened by all of these experiences, Guillaume has, since 2017, held the post of professor of tuba and the National Conservatory of Music and Danse in Lyon, teaching alongside Arnaud Boukhitine and Bastien Baumet.
